Here is an excerpt:
“A new technology using Drones could become the way of the future in the sale and purchase market during pre-purchase vessel inspections. The MR tanker M/T “CPO JAPAN” (51,747 DWT/Built 2010 Hyundai in Korea) was recently sold for excess $29 mill. but the interesting part of the story was the use of a flying robot or an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for internal space inspection during the vessel’s dry-docking in June at Remontowa Shipyard in Gdansk, Poland. The successful test used during the dry-docking could lead enterprising buyers to use drones during their pre-purchase vessel inspections in the future.”
